Between they released m91 to m95 back in April <= I didn't buy any of those plates along with m98 mainly because I'm trying to limit my purchases.
I came to visit my parents in Canada end of May 2013.

At the time being I'm just trying to co-op with my divorce and trying to accept what happened. I will start posting again once I'm in the right state of mind.shootingstar0218http://www.blogger.com/profile/10372037318445910957noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5703425230992995517.post-2391988118446565712012-12-14T17:13:00.000-08:002012-12-14T17:13:47.878-08:00 Pink Nails + Water DecalsFor today's manicure I'm posting a really simple pink manicure (actually that's all that I can do because I don't know where I packed my stamping plates and other nail stuff) that I did 2 days ago.

For the base color I used 2 layers of Zanna by Zoya, it's a light pink ... :Swatche of Zanna:

On my thumb and ring finger I decided to apply 2 layers of Holo Pink by Kleancolor. How it looked after applying Holo Pink on my nails:

After once the polish was dry I was emptying out my drawers and found 2 different sheets of water decals :D. Sorry for not linking the seller from whom I bought them from (he/she either no longer sells them or is out of stock; I remember buying around 8 small random sheets for around $3 - $4.) The water decal that I applied on my nails:

How it looked after applying the water decals:

The next day I decided to apply 1 coat of Cream Pearl by KleanColor. Sadly after taking 1-3 pictures I ruined my manicure; I forgot that I didn't apply a top coat (I've packed my base and top coat and I had gotten used to using Seche Vite and other fast drying top coats to dry my nails within a minute or two.)

I know my nails are a bit out of shape, and my nail polish application is a bit crappy (hello I haven't applied nail polish for a while now :P ).

Hope you enjoyed my post for today. If you liked it or hated it let me know in the comment or reaction section below.
Those of you on my facebook might already know that I got engaged in mid July (July 12th to be more exact) and those who just follow my blog or either youtube channel well now you know too :D. I'm getting married in January and leaving Toronto (my fiance doesn't live in Toronto) <= in other words I wouldn't be posting anything up until after my wedding. Some of you might be wondering why aren't I posting now? Since I knew I was going to be enrolling in University for another semester I kind of packed my nail art supplies and most nail polishes (only have some zoya's, china glaze and some other polishes that need to be packed) in September (I didn't want to forget anything and plus I hate packing at the last minute).

In the past few months I've purchased some stamping plates and some new nail art supplies.

The plates that I purchased in the past few months are:
- Cheeky set 1 and set 2 (I bough from cheeky's website and shipping took around 3-4 weeks; I've heard shipping time is less if you buy it from amazon)
- Mash set 2 (I purchased these from there website and had to pay a fixed shipping rate for international shipping)
- Konad plate m89 and m90 (I prefer m89 over 90; I've purchased them from ocnailart but currently m89 is sold out on ocnailart; I was able to find a seller on ebay that still has the plate in stock, click here to see her listing or click here to see her store)
- XL plate M (purchased it from ebay from the seller oshine-beauty.storee click here to see the person's store or click here to view the exact listing; I got the plate within 3-4 weeks.)
- XL plate C (I ordered this a week ago from lightinthebox; click here to see the plate; NOTE you pay using paypal and they allow you to add insurance, for additional $2, on your package)
- MLS-05 (I ordered this a week ago from lightinthebox; click here to see the plate)
- OB 6 and OB 37. I got both of them after bidding on ebay, OB6 was for $2.53, and OB37 was for $1.80. I've heard lightinthebox sells one plate for $1.50 and you can purchase them separately. I received this after a month but it wasn't the sellers fault, due to harsh weather the package was delayed.
- QA 06-10 I got these from a bid on ebay. I got them for a higher price (I bided $10 hoping no one would go above $6 but apparently someone really wanted them so at the last minute they bided at $9.20 so I ended up paying $10 plus $1.50 for shipping) but a seller on ebay is selling 3 plates for $4.85 USD. I received this after a month but it wasn't the sellers fault, due to harsh weather the package was delayed.

Lol it seems like a lot when I look at it in one list but overtime it hasn't felt like I've bought that many plates. After buying my Cheeky and Mash sets I wanted to buy some lace / bow print stamping plates but ended up buying more than just two three plate O_o. I do have some wedding/party nail designs in mind but I'll be posting them in February 2012 or either a week after my wedding. I'm still not sure if I'm going to post my wedding nails (I'm going to use fake nails for all the different wedding ceremonies) in advance or after my wedding. NOTE: I'm South Asian so the wedding is going to last for 5-6 days (lol seems like a lot right but each day is a different ceremony).

Also, sorry for not posting original pictures of the nail plates it's just I've packed most of the plates (except for XL C and MLS-05 <= these are the two that I ordered last week) and I don't want to unpack them (and my stamping polishes) and than take pictures, test them and pack them again. Also I've read and seen good reviews for the mash plates, cheeky set 1+2, XL and MLS plate (hopefully I like them as much as other bloggers/youtubers who reviewed them).

NOTE: Everything mentioned in this post was purchased using my own money. Everything I said in this post is my honest opinion. Also I wasn't paid or asked by any of these companies to review/mention there products in my post!

<strike>Testing Bundle Monster Plate Set 3:</strike>

I'm not going to post the video because for some reason my Window's Movie Maker refuses to convert the file in proper format.

For stamping polish I used:
- Konad's special dark orange stamping polish (for image plates BM-301 to BM-308),
- Cherry Red from SallyHansen's Xtreme wear collection (for image plates BM-309 to BM-314),
- Green With Envy from SallyHansen's Xtreme wear collection (for only 1 image on BM-315, the detail was visible in person but my camera wasn't picking it up so I changed my color),
- Blue Me Away from SallyHansen's Xtreme Wear collection (for image plates BM-315 to BM-

NOTE: If an image gave me a problem I'll mention that underneath the image.

I did have some issues with this plate but I'm guessing it's possible that the lip has some adhesive on it(I did try taking it off but it wasn't coming off) maybe that's why I had a hard time stamping it properly (even when I tried using a metal scraper). Also, the butterfly's antenna gave me some problems but after I turned my fan off it worked fine for me.

This plate gave me the hardest time out of the entire set. I found it helped when I used a metal scraper instead of the plastic scraper (especially for the lighting, for the devils tail, for the devil's face and for the small devil). Also for some of the images I did have to try scraping in different directions.

The bear on this plate doesn't really like me!!! No matter what I did the outline of the bear's face refused to stamp.

Honestly I was really tired when stamping this plate that's why I kept missing parts of the images when I was trying to pick it up.

I had only made a video on BM-317 to BM-325 and since the video is not working I don't have pictures for those plates.

Overall I really love the stamping plates; the images are original and the finest detail is visible in the final . I'm not going to be biased against the entire set just because some of my images didn't work especially since I know Bundle Monster has improved there sets a lot since the very 1st set they released few years ago.
- You can purchase Bundle Monster plates directly from bundle monster (by clicking here) or through amazon (by clicking here).
- I've bought most of my Konad stamping polish from ocnailart (click here) or either from wowsocool (click here)
- SallyHansen's Xtreme Wear nail polishes can be purchased from most stores like Walmart, Loblaws, Superstore, Shoppers Drug Mart, etc.

NOTE: Everything mentioned in this post was purchased using my own money. Everything I said in this post is my honest opinion. Also I wasn't paid or asked by any of these companies to review/mention there products in my post!
Well for today's post I decided to upload an old manicure. Actually I made the tutorial in February but never had the time to edit it so I decided to edited it and post that instead of my bundle monster's review.

Tutorial:

NOTE: For the original manicure I didn't use Konad plates. Back when I got into nail art I didn't know the difference between Konad/fake/bundle monster (or any other nail plates) stamping plates but I loved how girls were able to make pretty prints on there nails using stamping plates. After a while I decided to invest in some stamping plates and bought some fake plates from ebay (they came in a bundle of 8 and or 15 for a very low price). I wanted to upload the tutorial again using the original plates but than I remembered how Konad has become strict on fake plates so I decided to post this instead.

The image plates that I used originally:

Apart from a base and top coat I only applied the red nail polish on the french tip (sorry I don't remember the red nail polish I used) and for stamping I used Timeless White by Sallyhansen. Final manicure:

For this manicure I used I Brake For Manicures by OPI as my base color. I Brake For Manicures is a dusty purple. In this picture I only applied 2 thin coats. Swatch of I Brake For Manicures:
For stamping I used Silver Sweep by SallyHansen's Insta-Dry collection with bundle monster's image plate BM-315 (set 3 series that were released few weeks ago; click here if you want more information on the 3rd set). How it looked after I stamped:

After stamping I decided to use a matte top coat (matte about you by essie) instead of shinny one. Helpful hint when you apply a matte about you avoid going over the same spot twice and try to have a fuller brush otherwise it will streak the stamp on your nails. Honestly I couldn't decide on which image to post so I decided to post 4 images of the final design instead of 1 -2.
I must admit I loved how it turned out.

For this manicure I used Color To Dine For by OPI as my base colour; and for stamping I used Silver Sweep by SallyHansen's Insta-Dry collection with bundle monster's image plate BM-310 (set 3 series that were released few weeks ago; If you want more information on this click here). How it looked after I stamped and applied a layer of top coat:
I’m going to divide my bundle monster review into 3 parts (considering the fact that not everyone wants to see every part and/or detail):
Part 1 Removing the plastic from the plates (BM set 3) that appear as if they might be damaged or defective.
Part 2 Bundle Monster Set 3 (Images; click here to see the original post)
Part 3 Testing the plate (click here to see part 3)

Part 1:
I finally got my bundle monster plates yesterday:D. It took exactly 7 days (or 5 business days to be more exact) for me to get them. You can purchase them directly from bundle monster (by clicking here) or through amazon (by clicking here). They are for $21.99 plus shipping of $4 (if you live in USA normal shipping is $0) or $10 or $25(if you want it within 2-3 days). NOTE: I paid $4 for shipping.

I wasn't really going to video myself opening my stamping plates but after reading various comments (mainly on scratched plates) I was a bit scared so I decided to video tape it for my own safety. After I opened them I started counting them and during the process I noticed some of the plates were scratched; I'm not going to lie but I did start freaking out a bit at that time. After I removed the plastic from them I was relived that the images on my plates weren't defective instead only the plastic on them was damaged. At that time I remembered all the comments I had seen and decided to post this video. One of the only reason why I'm posting this video is because I know I'm not the only one who this happened to and to mainly prevent people from panicking. If you do get plates that have scratches on them then either take before and after images or video tape it (while removing the plastic from them). Also I'm not saying that just because the scratches on the plastic didn't affect the image of my plates they wouldn't affect yours either I'm only trying to prevent people from freaking out like I did.
Dim Sum Plum is a magenta pink/purple color (and no the color doesn't look like a plum) and the formula is really good (honestly if you layer it properly you can get away with 1 coat but I did 2 coats to be on the safe side). Swatches of Dim Sum Plum:

For stamping I used Lickety-Split Lime by SallyHansen's Insta-Dry collection with red angel's image plate RA-106. I liked how the stamp came out using Lickety-Split Lime but I was hoping it would be a bit brighter then this. Swatches of the final look:

I remember buying it but never got around to using it <= I think I finally understand my mom's point of iview on my nail polish addiction.

I know most people have been layering Whimsical over a light blue nail polish because it's sheer but I decided to layer it over Robyn by Zoya. In color wise Robyn is somewhere between cool blue and cyan blue. Swatch of Robyn:

I applied 2 layers of Whimsical over Robyn. Whimsical is a baby blue sheer nail polish that contains hexagon (pink and blue) and micro (pink, blue, and silver) glitters. Note: Whimsical by Revlon is a dupe for Glitter in the Air by Deborah Lippman.

For stamping I used Club Havana by Wet n Wild with red angel's image plate RA-106. Sorry about the blurry image I ruined my manicure before I had a chance to take more pictures.

I don't know if you've heard it by know or not but bundle monster just released their stamping plates for 2012! You can purchase them directly from bundle monster (by clicking here) or through amazon (by clicking here). They are for $21.99 plus shipping of $4 (if you live in USA normal shipping is $0) or $10 or $25(if you want it within 2-3 days). (Note I paid $4 for shipping because I don't want to get them ASAP; I'm currently studying for an exam.) Also, the set includes 25 plates (BM-301 to BM-325) total of 150 designs. The images for the plates are:
I was busy unpacking and in the process I broke 2 of my nails (1 of them was hurting really badly so I decided to wait for them to grow back). In the time being I decided to try to build a nail polish wall rack using cardboard boxes (the ones used to pack things in) and paper mache. In advance I want to let you know that I don't have a step by step video for this but if someone wants to see a step by step video for it please let me know in the comment section below.

Steps:
1. Start by cutting the cardboard box from the edges (as in separate the flaps from the sides and separate each side from the other side) using a cutter.
2. For the shelves use the flap that is the same length as the side you want to use as your racks back. Measure the diameter of your nail polish (note for this try to use the nail polish that has the biggest diameter) and add 5 mm to the measurement; cut the flaps using those measurements. Using either tape/ glue (using a hot glue gun) stick the shelves to the board.

3.a. If you want support for the front of the shelve use the flap that is the same length as the shelves; for this I used 'lengths of the shelves' X '1cm' (see image bellow). b.) For the corners use the length of the edges by 2 cm.

4. Tape/ glue the edges, and corners to the back of the board. It should look like a rack.

5. Cut pieces of newspaper for the paper mache.
6. Make the paste for the paper mache. For this step I know there are various methods of making the paste but I used white glue and water (this is what I'm most comfortable with). The ratio that I used for the paste is 3/4 white glue to 1/4 water. Mix the paste using paint brush.
NOTE: From step 7 - 9 place some old newspaper or plastic bags underneath the rack so you don't mess up your bed/floor.
7. Apply the paste on both sides of the newspaper pieces (that your cut in step 5) and apply it on your rack (the one you build in step 4). Allow it to dry before applying the next layer. Note: when applying paper mache I usually apply the pieces of paper horizontally once and vertically the other time around for total of 6 layers (3 times horizontally and 3 times vertically).

8. Apply 1-2 layers of paper mache on the back.
9. Apply 2 layers of acrylic paint (make sure to apply thin layers otherwise the acrylic paint might crack) on the entire nail polish rack. Once the acrylic paint is dry you can create designs on the rack or apply 1 layer of paper mache paste over it to make it shinny. For my wall racks once the acrylic paint was dry, I splattered old nail polish (that I was going to throw away) on the entire rack and allowed it to dry for 2 days. The final product:

I made the rack using OPI measurements but I wanted to see if it could hold up polish before I fixed it (using nails) in my closet.

It's been around a week since I placed this in my bedroom closet and it's holding up pretty well. NOTE: if you have shelves in your closet make sure you leave enough gap between the top shelf of the rack and the shelf of your closet. Also I made the bottom shelf smaller because I wanted to place my foils there.

Cost:
- $1 for the white glue (I bought it from Dollarama)
- $0 cardboard boxes (you can get them for free from most grocery stores like Food Basics, No Frills, Loblaw and etc).
- $0 to $0.75 for the newspaper (I used old newspaper that was lying around my house, but you can buy the Toronto Star for around $0.75)
- $0 to $1 for the acrylic paint (I had acrylic paint from before but if you want you can buy it from any dollar store)
- $0 to $2 for the nail polish (I used old non-branded nail polish for this, but if you want you can always try dollar stores or beauty outlet stores that have non-branded nail polish for $0.50 per bottle)

TOTAL COST: $1 to $4.75 (it only cost me $1 because I had most of the stuff lying around my house).

I have already started making another nail polish rack for my OPI nail polishes because the one I made before doesn't hold that many nail polishes. Also, I use a spice rack for my Zoya polishes.
I went back to dollarnailart.com and after seeing there inventory I couldn't find anything that I really wanted so I ended up on ebay (my bad addiction). I found a store called american_nails (click here if you want to see her/his inventory on foils) that had foils that I really liked but I wasn't in the mood to spend 4.49 EUR (plus 3.50 EUR shipping; for additional items it's 0.10 EUR; my total came down to around $25 Canadian) per foil but after seeing one of the patterns that I really liked I couldn't resist and I ended up buying 4 out of the 8 that I really wanted. Yes I have low self control when it comes to my addiction=> nail polish. Honestly if my mom hadn't told me (correction gotten angry at me) to stop buying nail polish I would still be wasting my money on nail polishes =)).
The seller had also added 5 lizards (I'm guessing as a thank you gift) to the package and honestly they are so cute and adorable. I'm not a big fan of accent nails but I wanted to try out something that looked like a collage (with different flowers) and it was on accent nails only. If you haven't guessed it yet then yes for today's manicure I did flower accent nails.

Tutorial:

I applied White on White by China Glaze on my index and middle finger; and 230 Portobello Pink by Rimmel London on remaining of my fingers. For the dry flowers I applied a clear slow drying top coat (on the area I wanted to apply the flower on), using a pointy end of the wooden stick (you should slightly wet the end by touching it on the area of your nail that has the clear polish on) I picked up the flower and placed it. Using the flat end of the wooden stick, I pressed down on the flower to make it stay; NOTE: if you have a hard time keeping the flower flat from one end then apply clear top coat under the petal and press on it. Once you are done apply a top coat. Final look with light flowers:

Image bellow (and end of my tutorial <= if you want to see it from different angles) shows the surface of my nail after applying top coat. Even though on my nails it seems like the flower might be sticking out but with a top coat it was flat.
I purchased the dried flowers from ebay for $2.00 (for 60 flowers). Just search for 'dried flowers nail art' and if you want it at the lowest price select 'Price + Shipping: lowest first.'

Tutorial for the manicure:

I applied 2 coats of 'It's Up To You' by Nicole by OPI as my base color (click here if you want to see swatches of 'It's Up To You'). Once my base color was dry I applied 1 coat of foil adhesive on my nail (the color became more milky but once the adhesive was dry it was clear again) and after it dried I applied the nail foil (peacock dazzle) on my nails. For the French tip I applied 'French White' by Wet n Wild at an angle (I'm not going to recommend using tape for this because the foil usually scratches easily), and stamped using Konad plate m85 (and m73 on my other hand) with Konad stamping polish in pastel blue. For the final result I applied Lasting Finish Pro by Rimmel London as my top coat.(Sorry I don't have pictures for the final result using Konad plate m85 because I ruined the manicure before I could take pictures of the final product.) Final result with top coat:

For stamping I used 'Silver Sweep' by Sally Hansen's Instra-Dri with red angel's plate RA-105. I have to admit after seeing the formula I was having second doubts about how well it was going to stamp but after seeing it on my nails I was shocked. Side note: it does stamp better then Konad's special stamping polish in silver; you can see the stamped image clearly in silver compared to Konad's silver stamping polish (the image stamped using Konad's silver polish is duller; might do a comparison in the near future). (Now hopefully I can find a better gold stamping polish too since Konad's special stamping polish in gold is also horrible.) Final design after applying a top coat:
For todya's post I used It's Up to You by Nicole by OPI as my base color.'It's Up to You' is a beautiful duo-chrome blue-purple in the bottle; on your nails if you go by the usual 2 coats you'll only see the shimmer blue not the purple shade, but if you apply up to 3-4 coats you can see the purple and blue shimmer. The color purple is really hard to capture so sorry for not posting an accurate picture of the color. Swatches of It's Up to You:

Swatches using flash:

I used the same water decal sheet as my last post (click here if you want to see my last post and also information about the decals.) The decals that I used from the sheet are BLE884. Final design after a top coat:
I went back and tried capturing the chrome and I was able to capture an image slightly close to the color :D.
I did think manicure on Monday but I've been busy with things so didn't have time to edit the video and blogpost up until today.

Tutorial:

For the gradient I used Fashion Wedges, I bought them from Dollarama (they can be found in the cosmetic section)

I applied French White by Wet n Wild as my base color. Using the Fashion Wedges I sponged Aqua Baby by China Glaze on 2/3 of my nails from the top, using the same method I applied Happy go Lucky by China Glaze on 2/3 of my nails from the bottom. By 2/3 I mean if you divide your nail into three horizontal sections you should get three different sections (section 1,2, and 3); and for the 1st part apply the blue nail polish on the top two sections (section 1 and 2) and for the second part apply the white nail polish on the bottom two (section 2 and 3) <= the middle section should change to green. Once you've gotten three colors on your nail keep on blending (using blue and yellow nail polish) until you are happy with the gradient. How it looked once I was done:

Bought these water decals from ebay for $8 ($8 for three extra large sheets plus $2 for shipping;). The sheet I used is No.087, click here if you want to see the listing; if you cannot open the link you can visit there store :jetwinson (or you can search '3X LARGE SHEET 220 NAIL IMAGES IN 1 NAIL ART TATTOOS' and go though the items listed).

Don't remove the plastic sheet from the entire sheet. Cut the decals you want to use (I cut the small square shown in the image bellow; the decals are BLE887), remove the plastic (from the piece you cut), cut out the individual decals, place each water decal in lukewarm water for 6-10 seconds (on the instruction sheet it says 10-20 seconds but for me after around 15 seconds the decals separated from the sheet while they are still in water). If you can move the decal from the white paper then dip your finger in water (if you don't do this step sometimes the decal dries before you get a chance to move it around) and place the decal on your nail (you might have to move it around to adjust it on your nail).

I applied 2 decals on most of my nails for this manicure. Also before applying a top coat make sure your nails are dry. How the manicure looked once I was done:

(If you forgot primary colors are red, blue, and yellow; and when you combine 2 primary colors you get secondary colors, ie., red and yellow make orange, red and blue make purple, yellow and blue make green and if you combine them all you get black.)

Video Tutorial:
<strike>(will be updated once the video is uploaded on youtube)</strike>

I applied 2 coats of White on White by China Glaze as my base color (you can use 1 if you want because you are going to be covering it later on). Once my white nail polish dried I applied yellow (Happy go Lucky by China Glaze), red (Hey Sailor by China Glaze), and blue (dark blue is called First Mate and it's by China Glaze; the light blue is called Flyin' High and it also by China Glaze) using a cosmetic sponge.

For stamping I used BM-223, BM-225, BM21, BM-206, and BM20 from bundle monster set 1 and set 2. (Note for some of these images<span style="font-family: "Calibri","sans-serif"; font-size: 11pt;"> you might have to stamp more than once to get it on your entire nail.)
For 'Look 1' I used white Konad stamping polish for stamping, and for 'Look 2' I used black Konad stamping polish for stamping.

For the triangular french tip I applied tape, at an angel, on my tips. Note before applying the tape make sure your nails are dry and the tape
isn't too sticky (simply apply the tape on your skin and remove it 2-3
times; image on the left). I applied Black Satin by Rimmel London (on 'Look 1'; I applied White on White by China Glaze on 'Look 2') on
the tips of my nail (area that wasn't covered with tape). Once the polish was settled in (as in it's starting to dry but it's
not fully dry) I removed the tape and allowed it to dry. Using bundle monster plate BM-210 I stamped the black (white for 'Look 1') area of my nail with white (black for 'Look 2') stamping polish. I drew a line parallel to the tip (assuming the tip is a right angle triangle than parallel to the hypotenuse) using Silver Glitter by Art Deco. 'Look 1' (after applying top coat):
After my base coat dried I applied 3 coats of Skull & Glossbones by OPI. For stamping I used Konad special stamping polish in white with bundle monster BM20, red angel RA 105, konad m83, and red angel RA 108. How it looked after I was done stamping:
I cut small pieces of Elven Gold and African Jade foil (you don't need a lot for this manicure; click here if you want more information on the foils). I applied the adhesive on my nails randomly (in blobs). Once the adhesive was dry I placed the foil on my nails randomly (shinny/pattern side up); for this step you might need to apply the adhesive and do the steps again if you want overlap of the foils or if you think the nail doesn't have enough foil on it. Once I was satisfied with the results I applied a layer of top coat by Sech Vite to make the foil crinkle a bit. How it looked once I was done:
my exams were done (April 27, 2012 to be more exact) but I never got to
it :(. <= I'll try to explain this in another post :D.

Today's post is a tryout and also a haul about a product that I've been wanting for sometime know but I never bought it (I usually don't trust online shopping a lot; especially when the website is not a well known site). Few weeks back someone on my facebook posted pictures of their order from dollarnailart.com (yes you guessed it nail foils) and I decided to buy it after asking the person for information.

For the first part of my post I did a simple foil manicure using the foil called English Rose.

Video tutorial:

Steps:
For the base color I used French White by Wet n Wild. I know the instruction paper that comes with the foil doesn't mention this step but I did it because the foil was transparent.

After my base color was dry I cut the foil according to my nail length and applied the adhesive on my nails. Once the adhesive was dry I placed the foil on my nail (shinny/pattern side up). I didn't apply a top coat (that's why the final look isn't that shinny), but the instruction paper does say you can apply a top coat on it as long as you don't drag the brush on the same place again. Final results without a top coat:

My other hand:

Overall I'm happy with the manicure because it was the 1st time I tried foils, and to top it off I had a hard time telling which side is the shinny side on this foil sheet. Hope you enjoyed my manicure for today. If you liked it or hated it let me
know in the comment section below.

Like I said before the second part of the post is a haul :D. I usually don't do haul posts but I had to do it for this post (no I'm not getting paid to do this; it's just for sharing purposes). I bought total of 18 foils (for every 6 foils you get a free bottle of foil adhesive of 1/4 oz), dot studs (in silver, midnight blue, and purple; each bag is suppose to contain 48 studs in it), teardrop studs (in purple, and midnight blue; each bag is suppose to contain 36 studs in it), metallic flat diamonds (in silver, and the bag is suppose to contain 250 flat diamonds in it), and ice chips (in white, and sky blue).

Some of you might be wondering why I bought so many things if I only wanted foils right???Actually, problem with www.dollarnailart.com is even though everything is for $1 you have to have a minimum order of $25 before shipping (click here for shipping prices). My total came down to $33.40 (after shipping; which was $7.40 for Canada). I received my package within 2 week (I placed my order on April 21st, it was shipped out on April 25th, and I received it on May 1st); and it was well packed. Honestly speaking apart from the minimum order requirement I was really happy with my order.

One of them is new while the other two are old. Actually I was going to stop updating my blog until April 27 but then I didn't feel right just ending my blog for a week without giving any notice/reason to be readers. The reason is I'm currently having my finals so for me to even do my nails is really in-vain (even though it reduces my stress level) because I usually end up ruining my manicure without realizing it (I'll post a picture at the end explaining what I mean :P).

For the first set of swatches I want to start with Catherine Arley # 676, it's a silver holographic nail polish. It's a Bulgarian brand of polish, and can be bought from beautycosmetic.biz; I bought mine from ebay (heard some people had terrible experience with the website). Anyways, the application is smooth (I did need to apply 3-4 coats because I found the formula to be a bit thinner than what I'm used to) and to top it off you don't really need a top coat to finish the look because it dries really fast and has a smooth finish to it; in my opinion it's better than #61 from Nfu-Oh and unlike Nfu-Oh you don't need to buy a special base coat to apply it (or if you are using a normal base coat use 2-3 coats before applying Nfu-Oh). I think I might swatch this again after my exams are done because the swatches didn't turn out that great. Anyways, enough chip chapping, time to see the swatches:

lol I can't really say swatches in sun light because the sun was setting when I took the pictures so they didn't turn out that great. So, swatches in partial Sunlight:

Moving on to the next color. For this manicure I used Splash of Grenadine by Essie, it's a pinky purplish color (actually it's somewhere in between the two shades). The formula is smooth and you can get away with just two coats, but to be on the safe side I used three. Actually if I had an option of wearing only two colors for rest of my life than I'd chose Splash of Grenadine and Papaya Punch (by China Glaze). Swatches of Splash of Grenadine:

I decided to layer Cream Pearl by Kleancolor (a clear glitter polish with really small glitters of purple, blue, green, orange and pink in it) on top. How it looked after I was done:

Finally my last design (yes I said design not swatch) for the day. For this design I used Dutch 'Ya Just Love OPI? by OPI, it's a dark reddish purple with golden and red shimmer in it (I forgot to take pictures of the color but I'll post it once my exams are done). I stamped bundle monster's flower print from plate BM-221 with yellow Konad stamping polish on top. Swatches of the final result:
For this manicure I used Papaya Punch by China Glaze, it's a yellow tangerine color, as my base color. Swatches of Papaya Punch (these swatches are new but the design on the bottom is old):
For stamping I used RA-111 (click here
to obtain more information on red angel plates) with red Konad
stamping polish. Swatches of the final design after applying a top coat:
After few hours I decided to layered it with a glittery clear top coat #732 by Paris Memories Nail Polish, a clear glitter polish with green, red, blue, pink glitters. The glitters are not micro-glitter they are noticeable; also I don't know if the company has bad polish (it's the first time I used their polish) or it was my bottle but it smelled really bad so you might want to cover your mouth when applying this. How it looked after applying Paris Memories:
